This Privacy Policy explains how Fill The Note (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles information on our website fillthenote.com and in our iOS and Android apps.

Summary

  • iOS and Android apps: The apps display a student’s note page and can report successful app shares by platform. We do not collect recipient names, phone numbers, social media accounts, or message contents from shares.
  • Website donations (Stripe): Donors complete checkout on stripe.com. Stripe collects name, email, and payment details for receipts and fraud prevention. You may also choose to share a first name and message for public display.

Our iOS and Android Apps

The Fill The Note iOS and Android apps display a student’s note page and provide share options. The app stores a page identifier locally on your device so it can load the correct page. When a native app share is completed, the app may send Fill The Note the page identifier, installed platform (iOS or Android), and share count so group leaders can see app-sharing activity. Donations are not completed inside the app.

Donations on Our Website

If you choose to donate, you’ll be redirected to our secure payment partner Stripe to complete checkout. Stripe collects:

  • Name and email address (for the receipt)
  • Payment information (e.g., card details)

Stripe processes payments on our behalf. We do not receive or store full card numbers.

You may optionally provide a first name (or remain Anonymous) and a message to the recipient for public display.

How We Use Information

  • Process donations and issue receipts
  • Display optional name/message with the donation
  • Prevent fraud, ensure security, and meet accounting/legal obligations
  • Provide support and respond to requests
  • Understand how visitors use our website and improve our fundraising pages and outreach

Sharing of Information

Donation/transaction records are kept as required (typically up to 7 years) and then deleted or anonymized. Public donor messages/names may be removed upon request.

Donations should be made by adults (or by minors with parental/guardian consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards. Payments are processed by Stripe with industry-standard security.

We use essential cookies to operate the site, support admin sessions, help complete checkout, remember certain local page actions, and protect the service from abuse.

We also use analytics and marketing tools, including Google Analytics and HubSpot, to understand website traffic, page performance, referral sources, visitor sessions, and interest in Fill The Note. These tools may use cookies, browser storage, pixels, or similar technologies to distinguish visits and sessions, estimate unique visitors, measure time on page or engagement, and help us improve follow-up with people who contact us.

If you submit a contact form or otherwise provide contact information, we may use HubSpot or similar tools to connect that information with your website activity so we can respond to your request and better understand interest in our services. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies placed directly by Fill The Note at this time.

Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.
